A team of four students from BBIT's Computer Science department has won the prestigious National Innovation Challenge 2025, competing against 150+ teams from across India. Their project, 'HealthAI Assistant', uses advanced machine learning algorithms to predict health risks and provide personalized recommendations. The team received a cash prize of ₹5 lakhs and mentorship from industry leaders. Team members include Rahul Verma (Team Lead), Priya Singh, Amit Kumar, and Sneha Patel, guided by Dr. Jayanta Basak.

Dr. Jayanta Basak, Professor in the Department of Computer Science, has been awarded a prestigious ₹50 lakhs research grant by the Department of Science and Technology - Science and Engineering Research Board (DST-SERB). The three-year project focuses on developing deep learning models for early detection of cardiovascular diseases using ECG analysis. The research aims to create an affordable, accessible diagnostic tool that can be deployed in rural healthcare centers. Dr. Basak will collaborate with medical institutions and recruit two PhD scholars for this project.

The modernization will benefit 2000+ students and enhance research capabilities across all departments. The procurement process has begun and new equipment is expected to be operational by April 2025.
